Get Sun Set: Sun Safety & Protection
School is about to be out! This weekend we welcome the summer break for kiddos, which means water play at the pool, the lake, or the ocean is right around the corner. That also means we need to be properly protected from the sun.
Sun Safety Tips:
Cover up with protective clothing: loose-fitting shirts, hats, shorts and pants work great. Also don’t forget sunglasses.
Stay in the shade: under a tree, an umbrella, or a canopy for more protection, especially for small children.
Watch the clock: go outdoors earlier or later in the day when the sun is less intense.
Pick a GOOD sunscreen: make sure it’s broad-spectrum, with SPF 15 - 50, and REAPPLY every 80-90 minutes, especially after being in the water. Also use moisturizers, lip and hair products that include SPF.
